The historic urban center dates from the 14th century and is protected as a national monument of BiH.


The historic site of Počitelj is located on the left bank of the river Neretva. It was once Bosnia’s King StjepanTvrtko I in 1383 fortress. The historic urban site of Počitelj and surrounding area suffered extensive collateral damage during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is once 112 residence, after the war, there are only left with 30+ residence. But now, it is a peaceful town with local resident that selling delicious dried fruits, freshly pressed pomegranate and fresh mandarin orange. But one should stop and buy some dried fruit while walking on narrow and winding streets toward the medieval castle. On the castle’s window, you will see the spectacular view of the town and river below. Once we walk back down the stairs to the top of the town, grabbed a coffee set off to the next destination – Kravice Waterfall
